Not long after the dot.com bubble burst, companies turned their backs on Internet business in Latin America.
But US Media Consulting founder Bruno Almeida knew that the Internet would flourish in the region much faster than anyone thought. So in 2003 he launched US Media Consulting, at first focusing on selling online ads for Latin American newspapers.
The first year, more than one million dollars in sales proved that Almeida's vision was spot-on.
The company then expanded to go beyond selling regional online ads to targeting U.S. Hispanics via both online and print. Several major deals later, this division was generating 25% of the company's revenues.
By 2008, US Media Consulting sprouted new divisions: print media, pay TV and Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising, bringing on industry veterans to drive immediate success in these areas.
By 2009, we had grown by an eye-popping 1,900%. Annual revenues were up to $12 million, and Inc. magazine ranked us #74 in their annual list of fasting-growing companies. We were #2 among Hispanic-run companies, #9 among advertising/marketing companies and #2 in South Florida.
This year, our growth continues. Key deals with Brazilian portal iG, The Wall Street Journal and other major firms have cemented our leadership position in the industry. To that end, we've opened regional offices in Mexico City, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina and Guatemala to handle our rapid expansion into these fast-growing markets.
